A lone desk lamp glow on a darkened production desk, cables coiled, everything else in black.

Contact the editors: corrections, disputes and editorial enquiries

This is an editorial contact page. Corrections are the most useful thing that arrives through it, and the page is where the answer shows up. Production and booking enquiries cannot be answered here.

Editorial contact

The most valuable message this site receives is a correction. Live visuals are documented unevenly, credits are frequently wrong in the sources themselves, and a reference built from published material inherits every error in it. If something here is inaccurate, saying so improves the record.

Editorial mail reaches the site at [email protected]. A correction that arrives with the source behind it is the fastest way to change a page, and the answer to it is the page itself once it has been changed rather than a message back. Placement offers are not part of the editorial process and go no further.

What cannot be answered here

Three categories arrive regularly and none of them can be helped from an editorial desk.

Booking and representation. No contact details are held here for any artist or designer named on this site. That includes the artist whose portfolio previously occupied this domain. Anyone trying to reach him should look for his current representation directly rather than through here.

Production and specification. Questions about what to hang, what to buy or who to hire belong with a production company that can take responsibility for the answer.

Placement. Coverage is not sold. Tools are named where they are the standard answer to a problem, and the reasoning is on the page for anyone to disagree with.

Sources and disputes

Where a production page describes a technical approach, it is either supported by published material or described as general practice. If a page has crossed that line (asserting a specific that the record does not support), that is a defect worth reporting, and it will be corrected rather than defended.

Elsewhere on the site

Before writing, it may be quicker to check what this site is and how it is sourced, the productions archive, or how this field has been documented in print. The full page list is on the sitemap.

FAQ

What this contact page is for

the things people ask about this

What should I contact you about?

Corrections and factual disputes first, a production described inaccurately, a credit that is wrong, a technical explanation that misleads. Beyond that: suggestions for coverage, and pointers to published material on productions documented thinly here.

Can you put me in touch with a designer or artist?

No. This is an editorial desk and holds no contact details for the people and productions it documents. Anyone looking to hire a visual designer or book an artist should approach the relevant company or representation directly.

Do you take production or specification enquiries?

No. There is no production arm here. Questions about specifying a rig, quoting a job or hiring a crew belong with a production company, and answering them from an editorial site would be irresponsible.

How are corrections handled?

A correction that is supported by a source gets made, and the page carries the change. Where a claim turns out to be unsupportable rather than wrong, the page is amended to describe general practice instead of asserting a specific.

Do you accept paid placement?

No. Nothing on this site is paid for and no coverage is sold. Software and hardware are named where they are the standard answer to a problem, and for no other reason.
